Greetings from Rowan County. My name is Herb Goodman and my Amateur Radio Call Sign is KF4TVi. I live just north of Salisbury North Carolina and as you will see I have many different interests and hobbies, this website reflects that diversity. For the regular visitors, you will have noticed by now that I have changed formats a wee bit…okay a whole lot 
I have decided to give the Word Press CMS a try, and so far I like what I have seen. The interface is easy to use and installation was pretty straight forward. After a few minor server modifications you can have a site up in no time running valid XHTML and CSS markup. And by utilizing plugins and widgets (that are freely available) you could add a cool new feature to your site every day if you wanted. The fun just never seems to end and there is something new to learn every day so you shouldn’t ever get bored. Word Press is packed full of features and provides a very clean user interface.
You don’t even have to know much HTML, CSS, Jscript, PHP, or MySQL but a working knowledge of their use and implementation is very helpful when it comes to troubleshooting plugins and widgets and making tweeks to your site. You will also have to set up a database on your server for WP to use. Most quality hosting packages these days come with some type of database and control panel which allow easy database creation so even that isn’t a big deal. I have been using IX Webhosting for several years now and recommend them as an affordable hosting provider.
Now while I may have fun playing with HTML and CSS and all that stuff, I understand everybody is not so inclined. Most people love to drive cars, but not everybody wants to know about compression and gears and fuel to air mixtures, they just want to get in their cars and drive! That’s cool, if you want a website of your own, but don’t want to go through all that behind the scenes nonsense, let me know and I can set you up with an affordable solution to meet your needs, then you can just log in and start blogging away. WP New Features
Okay, I know, I haven’t been updating my own site as expected. But in my own defense I have been busy working on other sites. I am addressing a few issues with some of the new features I have discovered and have implemented with varying degrees of success. I have still not had any luck with gallery plug-ins, but I think I may have found a good login solution. I just need to figure out how to make it blend in with the sites theme better. Check back in a day or so and see if I remembered to post anything else
